Be a plant nurse at our storage greenhouse
This is an outdoor job focused on the care and upkeep of bedding plants. Most of the work is physical, self-directed, and can often require long work days in the sun.
You'll be working off-site, at our small greenhouse located in the St-Boniface area. You must be ready to work outside, in the elements; rain or shine.
Among other things, you'll be asked to tend to the plants' needs, unloading various deliveries of plants and gardening goods, and fill bags of soil and compost. Seeing as this job takes place at our satellite location, the work and tasks are varied, and require a certain level of independence.
The contract begins at the beginning of May, and ends mid-July.
The availability of candidates is a very important factor in our hiring choices.
You must :
Be able to lift at least 50 lbs
Be comfortable and equipped to work outside
(rain or shine) for full days
Be able to work flexible hours
due to the weather-dependant nature of the work
Be interested in gardening and motivated to work hard
Be organized and meticulous
